As an international heritage consultant, Philip advises on all aspects of shaping change to historic buildings and areas in the UK and overseas. Philip is the founder and CEO of the Commonwealth Heritage Forum, an innovative UK charity established in 2019 to help disadvantaged Commonwealth communities save their built heritage at risk. Working closely in conjunction with The King’s Foundation, Commonwealth universities and heritage bodies, the Forum harnesses expertise and best practice from around the globe to help some of the world’s most vulnerable communities support sustainable development and their capacity to address the challenges of climate change.
With £12.26 million funding from The Vinehill Trust, in May 2022 Philip established the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Commonwealth Heritage Skills Programme – the largest heritage programme ever devised for the Commonwealth. Over the next five years, it will provide a tiered training programme for Commonwealth students. Supported by up to twenty practical on-site training projects, it will help to build local resilience and skills, nurture the heritage champions of the future and support sustainable development.
